FAITH - Healing

Matthew 4:23 “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.”

Read the following scriptures and as you read them ask these two questions.

1. Did the scripture hold true to Habakkuk 2:4? (The just shall live by his faith)

2. Did the scripture hold true to Romans 10:10? (Believing in the heart and confessing with the mouth)

Read Matthew 8:1-3

  • The Leper believed in his heart if Jesus was willing, He could be made clean. His words were in line with his heart.

  • Jesus acted on the faith of the Leper and healed him (According to how he believed in faith he received)

Read Matthew 8:5-13

  • Note a centurion (non Jew) intercedes for his servant.

  • The centurion believed that Jesus was a man under authority, as he himself was also, and that by only speaking a word his servants would obey.

  • Jesus acted on the faith of the centurion by speaking a word and the centurion’s servant was healed. (According to how he believed in faith he received)

Read Matthew 9:18-26

  • Woman with the issue of blood stated if only I touch the hem of His garment, I shall be made well.

  • Jesus told her, “Your faith has made you well.” (According to how she believed in faith she received)

  • A ruler’s daughter has just died, and he believes if Jesus lays his hands on her she shall live.

  • Jesus acted on the ruler’s faith and his daughter is restored to life. (According to how he believed in faith he received)

Read Matthew 9:27-31

  • Blind men crying out to Jesus, “Have mercy on us.”

  • Jesus questions if they believe that Jesus was able to heal them. Their answer of “yes” qualifies, for Jesus states according to your faith let it be unto you. (According to how they believed in faith they received)

You can see as you read the text that each knew and believed Jesus was the source, power of healing. They needed to walk by faith, believing, and confessing with their mouths that Jesus would act on their faith.

I believe each instance of healing and deliverance that Jesus performed was also a time of teaching.

He knew what was in people’s hearts. At times He spoke that He saw that people had faith to believe and at other times He needed to question people to get their confession in line with their hearts belief.

Everyone’s way in how they believed was so different. Just like the sands on the seashore are the number of ways a person can have faith and believe. Faith is not a formula, nor a doctrine where you follow certain steps or rules to attain what you are believing for.

Is it not like the Lord giving us the freedom to believe in Him, and freedom in how to believe in faith, knowing that we are always looking to Him for salvation, deliverance and health.

Healing is the Children’s Bread – It is ours for the taking!!!
