FAITH - Deliverance

Mark 16:16-18 “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

We have a responsibility once we come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We as disciples are to minister to others in faith, casting out demons and healing the sick, according to the power that works in us.

Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Read Matthew 8:28-32

  • Two men meet Jesus, as they come out of the tombs; however, it is the demons who talk to Him.

  • The demons’ question, “Have You come here to torment us before the time”?

  • The demons’ request Jesus to cast them into the herd of swine.

  • Jesus allows them and says “Go”

Read Matthew 9:32-33

  • People brought to Jesus a man mute and demon possessed.

  • Jesus cast out the demon and the mute spoke.

Read Matthew 17:14-21

  • A man comes to Jesus wanting Him to have mercy on his son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely.

  • He states to Jesus, “I brought my son to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.”

  • Jesus states, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?

  • Jesus rebuked the demon, and he came out of him.

  • The disciples asked Jesus why they could not cast it out.

  • Jesus states because of your unbelief, however, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

Everything that the Lord accomplishes is a teaching moment. During deliverance ministry we can expect to experience the same as the Lord did.

  • Demons talk, and they recognized who Jesus is. (They will recognize whom we are)

  • Demons are fearful and know they will be tormented at a certain time.

  • Demons begged Jesus to be cast into swine.

  • Demons are cast out, and rebuked.

  • Prayer and fasting are required for certain kinds of demons.

Each scenario of deliverance is so different, so how does faith apply?

  • In certain circumstances it is the faith of the individual, the faith of the intercessor, or the faith of the one ministering to another.

This is our foundational walk of faith:

  • Believing in our hearts the Lord Jesus.

  • Believing in our hearts for health and healing.

  • Believing in our hearts for deliverance.

The Children’s bread.

Let us pray the prayer of boldness that Peter prayed for:

  • “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” Acts 4:29-30.
