FAITH - The Just Shall Live by Faith

Habakkuk 2:4 “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him. But the just shall live by his faith.”

Galatians 3:11 “But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for the just shall live by faith.”

Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith, but if anyone draws back My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Romans 1:16-17 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

Question: - If we are to live by faith, then, what is faith?

Hebrews chapter 11 called the great hall of faith gives us the definition:

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Hebrews 11:3 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”

Question: - How do we live by faith and walk it out?

The following scripture is foundational upon how we walk this faith life out. Keep this scripture in the forefront of your mind and in your heart.

Romans 10:8-10 “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

The first part of the scripture speaks to our faith in the Lord Jesus and then explains how this faith works.

Therefore, faith works by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth. This would be true in all areas of our life as we walk this faith life out.
